Our sincere thanks to the Transition Action Groups (TAGs) that helped build out these new, stronger committees that are focused on providing support and resources to our clubs and members across NJ Rotary. Members from each of the incoming districts came together to draw up these outlines and many committee chairs have been selected.
Read on for details on the status of each committee and how you can get involved.
We invite members who are interested to reach out to committee chairs about joining a team. Chairs will have discretion in assembling their teams from the interested parties based on skills needed and in support of geographic diversity.
We strive to have each team reflect the diversity of our new region and welcome people of all experience levels to lend their time and talent. We know it will take time to build out these bigger teams and appreciate your patience while we prioritize committees whose timeline of work require faster action.

Membership Committee
Everyone will be excited to hear that this committee re-design was a major priority for the Steering Committee, as membership is our biggest priority in Rotary. The NJ Rotary Membership team will be bigger, stronger, and is designed to serve our new, larger region.
It will consist of three divisions outlined below:
North: Passaic, Bergen and Hudson (41 clubs and approx 900 members)
Central: Burlington, Monmouth, Ocean and Atlantic (35 clubs and approx 925 members)
South: Camden, Gloucester, Salem, Cumberland and Cape May (33 clubs and approx 750 members)
Each division will have a Chair, up to 4 Assistant Chairs, and 3 Rotaract Assistant Chairs. The committee should have 18 members with a full roster.

Foundation Committee
The District Rotary Foundation Committee is the connection among The Rotary Foundation, members and the public. It raises the awareness of the Foundation across NJ Rotary, increases the club’s capacity to take part in Grant Projects, and inspires them to support the Foundation programs and fundraising activities.
Seeking a District Rotary Foundation Chair:

Must be an experienced Rotarian, typically a Past District Governor (PDG) or a highly experienced leader

Would serve a three year term (per RI)
-
Cannot hold any other roles in their club or NJ Rotary (per RI)
In addition to the leader of the committee, roles include leaders to oversee:
Grants (DDF, Global Grants, Peace Scholars)
Polio Plus
Stewardship
Fundraising (Major Gifts, Annual Fund/PHS, Endowment)

Public Image Committee
Responsibilities of this committee will include:
- Provide learning and resources for clubs to improve their public image
- Creating visibility for NJ Rotary among our clubs and the public
- Oversee efforts focused on public-facing campaigns for NJ Rotary
- Manage the NJ Rotary website and social channels
- Make media contacts to share NJ Rotary content with
- Build and maintain a news website for club and district news
In addition to the chair, we are looking for members to join subcommittees that will cover the following:
- Social Media - support for creating and sharing content on social channels
- Website Management - help with editing and maintaining this website published in ClubRunner
- Learning - people who want to help with teaching Public Image skills to clubs and members
- Support Hub - respond to inquiries from clubs who need help with graphic design, developing Public Image content, using proper branding, etc.
- Newsletter - edit news content and post to the website, share bulletins with members on a monthly basis
- Media Relations - external communications
- Marketing - paid external communications
- Data Analytics - help with reporting on website and social channel traffic for committee and NJ Rotary leadership
- Corporate Relations - help make B2B connections that will support the mission of Rotary

Area Representatives
A new title for Assistant Governor, the role of Area Rep is very similar, but with a shift in culture to truly be a representative for the clubs they serve (as opposed to an appointee from the district). It is a subtle, but important distinction that is important for clubs to feel supported.
Job duties would continue to include regular visits to and relationship-building with the clubs in the assigned area, to be the conduit between clubs and district leadership, and attend NJ Rotary learning events and conferences.

Opportunity, Belonging & Inclusion (OBI)
This committee was formerly known as Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), but will be known as OBI moving forward.

Tech Committee
Brand new to our region, if you have tech skills to offer up in support of clubs and members, we invite you to consider joining our new tech team.
The Technology Committee provides strategic leadership and oversight for digital strategy, software platforms, and technology initiatives that advance district priorities and drive organizational transformation.
A key focus is the responsible adoption and integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to increase productivity, strengthen collaboration, and modernize how members and clubs operate and serve their communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic AI Leadership & Innovation – To champion responsible AI adoption; identify and integrate AI and existing digital solutions, aligned with district priorities
- Member & Club Support – Train members, raise technology awareness, and provide guidance to clubs. Study, evaluate and advise regarding products for use by members
- Coordination & Collaboration – Lead subcommittees, align initiatives, and coordinate cross-team team efforts.
- Performance & Resources – Set targets, track and report progress, and secure necessary support resources

Events Guidelines
An Event Committee should be formed for each NJ Rotary event. This committee is separate from the Sponsorship Committee and is responsible for the planning and execution of the event.
To maintain accessibility and encourage participation:
Ticket prices should not exceed $90
Ticket revenue should primarily cover the cost of food
Additional event costs should be offset through sponsorships
